Date nights are the most fun because I have the best excuse (not like I need one) to get dolled up for my hubby and hit the town. I always make sure I'm 100% comfortable but of course cute so the dress I'm wearing here is one of my new faves. It cinches just right at the waist to them flare out and be the perfect type of flowy for walking around downtown and holding hands with my man. ;) Oh, and did I mention this dress has POCKETS!! Jackpot right?? I love empire style dresses due to my shape it can be really flattering. I am very curvy so I like to accentuate my waist without having my hips and behind out there for the world to see. Dresses like these give me just the right amount of flirty, sexy look I like without being revealing. I am not against revealing at all, but casual date night just isn't the place and time for that. Dressy date nights, however, can be a different story. ;)
I paired the dress with a nude wedge from JustFab, and a pop of color with a coral clutch from Francesca's. Just enough space for my phone and essential lip applicators for one evening. Because the dress already had a fun print I chose to do a toned down necklace versus my usual statement necklace, and did a gold drop pineapple charm necklace by I.N.C. International Concepts from Macy's. The heels are cute and just comfortable enough for me to go for walks in and the necklace isn't too over the top for a casual date night. We love to take a stroll together and people watch. Our typical date night consist of dinner (usually always his choice because I make him choose because I am terrible at picking restaurants) and a movie, or sometimes shopping. It's fun to mix it up so sometimes we literally will just ride around listening to music and talking after dinner. Just being together, outside of the home, talking about unusual things is what we prefer.
And there you have it! my go to type of casual date night #ootd! What's yours?
