It's Monday again, and with another new week comes a massive amount of new opportunities to go out there and get stuff done! This week my husband and I are on a full-on house hunt, scoping the internet, working with a realtor to look at different houses in the area trying to find out what fits most of our needs. I'm staying as positive as I can be but it looks like we may be making a few compromises for things we want in order to get a house that's not completely old and in need of a million nips and tucks. Other than that I'm working on a few DIY's and videos for you all that I hope you will like so stay tuned!
This weekend was my niece's dance recital and I wore this fun polka dot dress I snagged at Target's BoGo 1/2 off sale! I just love sales, don't you?! And I absolutely adore the Who What Wear line at Target so when I saw this dress I had to try it! I've never owned a classic black and white polka dot dress before so I was a little nervous about it, but it was SO comfortable and light for the hot weather. I love that it looks much longer but has the shear aspect to the bottom layer as well as the back with a little see through detailing. It buttons all the way up in the front and has a cinched, tied waist line, which if you've followed along this far you know that I love that in a dress because of my shape. My wider hips make everything look really big unless I bring it in at my waistline to show that I have a shape and am not just one big polka dot blob. :) We walked around the theater a bit near a church I grew up in and along the bricked pathways to some gorgeous colonial houses close to downtown. I love how the dress flows and it was probably close to 95 degrees that day but I felt fine in this little number.
I accessorized my look with one of my favorite necklaces my mother-in-law gave me from Kate Spade. Because the dress was a simple black and white it gave me an easy opportunity to jazz it up with a bright colored bag. I am absolutely IN LOVE with my new pineapple crossbody bag! I always have to have some pop of color if I'm wearing muted tones and this little bag did just that. I got so many compliments on it, at the recital, in the street, I know I will be getting a lot of good use out of it this summer. Incase you missed it I posted about little cross body bags this weekend so check it out here.
I also decided to pair the dress with my nude bow wedges I recently got from JustFab. It went perfectly together the the polka dots and the bows, I don't think it gets much more girly than that. I've linked all the outfit details below if you're interested! Wish me luck and please pray for me and my husband on our house hunting endeavor as its only just begun and already feeling a little overwhelming but I know in the end it will all be worth it! If you have any advice I would greatly appreciate it! I hope you all have a wonderful week!
